Project

Slovak musician and singer Pavol Hammel (born in 1948 in Bratislava) is for someone a progressive rocker who approached in 60´s of the last century the 'Western' trends for Slovak listeners. For others, he is an original songwriter with a melancholy voice. He comes from a family of musicians, his father was a violinist of Slovak National Theatre. Violin however Pavol Hammel in adolescence changed for guitar and in early 60th he founded a rock group PRÚDY, with which he made his greatest hits. The band were many great musicians such as pianist Marian Varga and bassist Fedor Frešo (both later Collegium Musicum). Great lyrics for the group he wrote Kamil Peteraj and Boris Filan with which Pavol Hammel works until today.

In 1976  he graduated from the Law Faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava. He worked in music publishing Opus and in 1994 founded his own agency PROMOTER. He is married and has two daughters. Linda Hammelová is also a singer.

At the concert at the Municipal Library he performed his greatest hits and gave space also for the current production. The guest of the evening was a veteran of the Czech rock scene, the king of electric guitar Radim Hladik, with whom Pavol Hammel worked in the 70 the of the  last century. A few years ago they renewed cooperation and the result was a very successful live album Déjà vu live. Samples from the album were of course also part of this extraordinary concert.
